Talking Therapy in Yarnfield, Stone
Our Talking Therapy at High Winds Life is based on the principals of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a type of psycho therapeutic treatment that helps people to understand their thoughts and feelings and how they influence behaviour.
During the course of the treatment people learn how to change destructive and disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behaviour and emotions. It empowers them to think positively and take control of their situation.
Who is Talking Therapy for?
Children age 10+
What to Expect?
Before booking a therapy session, the therapist will have an informal chat with you via telephone to check that Talking Therapy is a suitable form of treatment for yourself or your child.
Treatment sessions are 50 min. You can book as many or as few treatment sessions as you would like, whether that is 1 session, 6 sessions or more. You are never tied in to a lengthy treatment plan. We find that most people need 4-6 sessions to see the best results. The client will be set tasks to do in between sessions and you/your child will get the most out of the programme if you/your child co-operate fully with these.
Information that is disclosed between therapist and client will be confidential.
However, if the therapist assesses the client to be at risk of harm to self or others, confidentiality can be breached and information shared with appropriate persons.
